Liam advises companies on a wide range of pension issues, primarily related to their legacy defined benefit pension plans.

He has over a decade of experience of working with companies and pension schemes of all sizes, from FTSE 100 down to smaller UK businesses.

In addition, Liam is a member of our specialist liability management and member options team. His role on this team means he keeps up to date with trends and regulatory views, works closely with independent financial advisors to understand the evolving advice market and supports a range of clients looking to put in place better support for members at retirement and to run liability management exercises.

Liam has been a qualified actuary since 2009 and, in all his work, combines a professional and personable manner with technical expertise to deliver high quality advice to his clients.


Significant experience:

  • advised on the largest fully advised Pension Increase Exchange exercise in the UK, covering over 20,000 pensioners
  • key adviser in multiple M&A transactions, including buyer-side advice on the acquisition of a company with a £5 billion pension scheme
  • strategic review of the impact of the tapered annual allowance on financial sector clients with over 4,000 employees impacted
  • key adviser to company in large number of funding negotiations helping them achieve favourable funding outcomes
