Tom provides actuarial and consultancy advice to sponsors and trustees of pension schemes.

Tom predominantly advises companies on all aspects of their pension arrangements, including scheme funding advice, liability management, transactions, benefit design, pension scheme accounting and PPF levy issues. He also leads Barnett Waddingham’s offering to Private Equity firms.

Tom has advised clients with schemes ranging in size from £10 million to £8 billion across a range of sectors from not-for-profit organisations to large financial institutions.

Significant experience:

• helped to provide valuation advice to a large client that resulted in a significant reduction in the proposed deficit
• advised a variety of companies on their accounting disclosures under tight timescales
• provided advice to a company on a benefit change project, challenging their preferred idea and developing a solution that better met their objectives
