Following significant growth due to client demand we are set to open a new office in Guildford.

The new office supports the continued evolution of the organisation and ensures BW continues to provide the high quality services it is renowned for to all clients. Located at Guildford Business Park, the new office will be home to 50 employees, at full capacity, when it opens later this year.

The continued expansion of BW’s award winning actuarial and investment consulting and pension administration teams to service the increasing client demand means that BW will be recruiting a significant number of talented people across all business areas and offices over the next 12 months. BW is looking to find the very best talent and expertise to further support its growth and ambition as it continues to thrive.

In addition to this new office investment, BW continues to invest in its people and technology, to create a truly resilient and agile workforce. Alongside homeworking, offices are an essential part of our flexible working framework and widely acclaimed culture and colleague experience. The new site will provide its people with an optimal work space for team collaboration and connectivity with clients as people return to office working more frequently.

Earlier this year, BW announced its net zero pledge for 2021 as it achieved net carbon neutral for scope 1 and 2 emission* having made a significant reduction in its footprint. The Guildford office will be no different as it has environmentally friendly waste management, integral LED light fittings, VRV heating and cooling systems, an ‘A’ EPC rating and a Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) rating of ‘very good’. The main train station is a 20 minute walk or short bus ride away and there are also cycling and shower provisions available to help encourage further reductions in car travel emissions.

"Opening a new office in Guildford is a direct reflection of our dedication and commitment to deliver creative and bespoke services which go beyond the expectations of our clients."

Andrew Vaughan, Senior Partner, said: “BW is continuing to grow and attract both new clients and new people due to our high quality service, free-thinking approach and promise to always do the right thing. Opening a new office in Guildford is a direct reflection of our dedication and commitment to deliver creative and bespoke services which go beyond the expectations of our clients.

“Our award winning Pension Administration and Actuarial Consulting businesses will be the first teams in the new office, however we see this becoming a multi-business area service office in the future as BW continues its sustainable growth trajectory. We believe by expanding our geographical scope and taking an inclusive approach with our recruitment we are able to attract the very best talent from numerous fields and backgrounds to encourage multiplicity of thought.”

Paul Houghton, Head of Actuarial Consulting, said: “As the actuarial team continues to grow and attract new clients, we are looking to enhance the team with more talented people to support our clients. This new location will add another dimension to our already established actuarial team as they provide bespoke insights and solutions to our clients in Guildford and beyond.

“Each year we bring in talented new recruits and graduates to support the continued growth of our services and the next generation of actuaries, consultants and technicians. With the addition of the new location, BW will have more than 145 qualified actuaries appointed to over 400 DB pension schemes allowing us to further build, strengthen and adapt our proposition in the market and creatively tailor services to all our clients.”

Paul Latimer, Head of Pension Administration, said: “The new office in Guildford and the significant growth across BW, and the Pension Administration area more generally, is testament to the hard work and dedication shown to all our clients. We recognise that every scheme requires a different level of support from us and firmly believe our approach provides us with the flexibility to meet their requirements.

“We have more than 500 specialist pension administrators who have more than 3,500 years of relevant experience between them and that is at BW alone, not including their previous employment in the industry. I am looking forward to having a full team of administrators based out of the Guildford office in the near future.”
