Russ joined our thriving 50+ Pension Executive and Management Services (PEMS) team at the end of February 2023 as a Senior Consultant and member of our PEMS board. In addition to his client work he leads the internal people side of the business and also expands our existing presence in the south west.

Russ is an experienced trustee secretary and governance expert, helping trustees govern their schemes effectively and in line with best practice and legislation so they can focus on their strategic goals.

He brings his experience to one of our largest governance clients and also builds teams to service a wider portfolio of clients.

Career

Russ joined Barnett Waddingham from Isio (formerly Premier Pensions Management) and has 23 years’ experience in pensions, starting his career in administration before moving into consultancy and client management roles. He has carried out the role of secretary to the trustees for a number of years in a consulting environment and previously in an in-house role with the logistics business Wincanton.

Interests

Russ enjoys most sports and follows both Bristol City Football Club and Bristol Bears rugby union team. He has two young sons which keep him very busy away from the office having coached his eldest son’s football team for many years. He can now be found every Sunday morning stood on a wet and windy sideline supporting his youngest son play rugby for their local club.
